30 minutes from Innsbruck – and you’re right in the middle of it all.
Sellrain Mountains: tranquil side valleys, panoramic summits, pure nature.
Step out of everyday life, step into tranquility, adventure, and fresh mountain air.
Hike, explore, breathe deep—the mountains await you.
Towering above the side valleys rises a crown of mighty peaks—reaching heights of up to 3,000 meters. In between lies a landscape that has preserved its pristine nature. The Gleirsch Valley is utilized solely for alpine farming. No lifts, no cars, no hustle and bustle. Just mountains, nature, and an abundance of tranquility.
As you hike, you are accompanied by clear mountain streams, small alpine lakes, and sunny terraces that repeatedly invite you to pause for a break. Simply sit down, take a deep breath, and enjoy the silence. With a little attentiveness, you may also spot the animal inhabitants of the Alps—marmots, chamois, and many others make their home here.
In summer, alpine roses, cyclamens, and numerous mountain flowers glow amidst the meadows and rocks.
The peaks and passes surrounding the valley offer wonderfully secluded routes for hikers and mountaineers—far off the beaten path. Along the way, you will frequently encounter staffed alpine pastures. They are perfect for a leisurely stop—and at some, you can even stay overnight.
In the Sellrain, Ötz, and Inn Valleys, you will find numerous accommodations—ideal for starting your tour or for a relaxing end to a long day in the mountains. The tourist offices in the holiday villages will be happy to assist you with your planning.
