Some huts open as early as June, when the connecting stages are often still snow-covered. The best season generally runs from July through September or October. However, even in the height of summer, it is advisable to contact the hut wardens to inquire about current conditions. Reservations are absolutely essential at the huts to avoid unpleasant surprises and secure a place to sleep.
